Monier-Williams dictionary from Cologne Sanskrit Lexicon
English Translation by Griffith

1.127.5

Here near we place the sacrificial food for him who shines forth fairer in the night than in the day, with life then stronger than by day. His life gives sure and firm defence as that one giveth to a son. The during fires enjoy things given and things not given, the during fires enjoy as food.

Oldenberg's translation

1.127.5

Let us place that power 1 of his in our neighbourhood 2—(that power) which is more visible by night than by day 3—(more visible) than by day to the unremitting 4 (worshipper). Therefore his life is a firm hold 5, like (a father's) safe refuge to a son: (the fires) that never grow old, tending to blessings enjoyed or not enjoyed (before) 6—the fires that never grow old, tending (to such blessings).
