ājya आज्य m. a descendant of Aja, (g. gargādi, q.v.) ā́jya n. (√ añj Vārtt. on [Pāṇ. iii, 1, 109]), melted or clarified butter (used for oblations, or for pouring into the holy fire at the sacrifice, or for anointing anything sacrificed or offered), [RV. x]; [AV.]; [VS.] &c.
